  • www.eren.doe.gov/energysmartschools/ A good place to look for other links, reasons to get involved with energy efficient schools and how. A how to guide for schools to become involved. Great for K-12 teachers and principals.
  • www.ase.org Free lesson plans available, a good place to look to show how industries benefit, as well as consumers. Best for grades 3-12.
  • www.eren.doe.gov/energysmartschools/teach_stuff.html Free lesson plans for K-12. A lot of pictures for kids and easy to read pages about everyday life, like appliances!!! Lots of good reading!
  • www.state.tn.us/ecd/energy_teen.htm An 'A' through 'Z' guide of materials good for teaching, a leading place to science websites. Examples of energy efficient schools. Material for grades K-12 available.
  • www.fsec.ucf.edu Shows news about people and places involved in using solar power. Teaching resources available for mainly 4-12. Basically an overview of what this school does and how it works, upcoming and completed activities are listed.
  • www.irecusa.org A page to start your search for solar programs. The site makes materials available via mail and internet. K-12 information available.
  • www.goingsolar.org A look into solar communities. Examples of kits used to inform communities, schools, and organizations about solar energy. Learn about what others are doing. Site run by IREC.
  • www.homeperformance.com A how to on making your house energy efficient. Not intended for education without intention. Examples of house evaluations.
  • www.weatherization.com Good for principals of thermal energy and how houses fit into the picture. The better weather proof a home is the more energy it saves. A guide to where people are most affected by the environment.
  • www.energyconservatory.com Research materials available about how efficient your house is. Basically an advertisement.
  • www.affordablecomfort.org Mission Statement: Affordable Comfort, Inc. is a not-for-profit educational service organization that promotes energy and resource efficiency, comfort, health, safety, affordability, and durability in buildings, focusing on those buildings in which people live, and the people who live in them. Pictures of exhibits available, as well as ordering instructions for exhibit Tell Tale House.
  • www.energy.ca.gov/education/ Fun and flashy for children. One of my favorites! From art to reading to math this site provides fun activities that both teachers and students will love. Great for grades 3-8, but information for all is available. Based on problems in California, but understandable to those in Maine!
  • www.wings.buffalo.edu/ubgreen Campus website. Lots of definitions and examples of how university deals with environmental conservation and resolution. Best for high school students to use, they may better understand the way a college works, and how they can begin organizations.
  • www.csf.concord.org Great site for books, curriculum planning, and lesson plans. Descriptions of teachers, schools, and ideas. Good for grades K-12.
  • www.ecouncil.ac.cr/linksect.html The decision-makers' entry point to sustainable development information on the Internet. The SD Gateway provides direct access to some of the best independent sustainable development institutes in the world.
  • www.eelink.net/classroomresources-directories.html A project of the North American Association for Environmental Education, this website lists classroom activities, resources and directories. Good biological science references.
  • www.cnie.org/ A teacher reference tool. From national to local level, the site is a library of information. Great for college students looking for internships and jobs.
  • www.yesworld.org/ Worldwide summer camp offers outdoor classroom about environmental issues. Great for ages 18-25.
