Both demand (kW) and energy (kWh) charges greatly impact your energy costs. What are they and how do they interact? Reading and understanding utility bills is not only smart fiscal management, it can help identify energy usage patterns and improve understanding of how your facility uses energy.  (45min.)

9:55AM – 10:25AM          Saving Energy Through Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Practices:  Operation and maintenance procedures can have a dramatic impact on a building's energy costs, often as much as 15-20%!  Learn how preventative maintenance and proper use of existing controls and schedules can reduce your energy costs.  (1.5-hours)

10:35AM – 12:05PM         Getting the Most Efficiency from HVAC Equipment:  Space conditioning, whether heating, cooling, providing fresh air or proper humidity levels comprises the largest overall energy cost for your facility.  Doing so as efficiently as possible will have a great impact on your utility bills.  (1.5-hours)

When retrofitting older or historic buildings for energy savings, all methods are not equal and some may even be detrimental to the integrity of the building.  Understand how to make your older building as energy efficient as possible while preserving its historical nature. (45min.)

Lighting can account for over a third of your facility’s annual electrical usage.  Consequently, the associated energy savings potential is quite large.  Lighting technologies, some of the most rapidly changing areas of energy efficiency, offer attractive energy paybacks.  Control techniques can reduce both operating and maintenance costs.  (1.5-hours)
